We are now in warm weather mode when we no longer have to be concerned with your order freezing. Shipping costs are also much lower since we can use economical 3 Day Express Service.

 

Shipping Basics

  • Plants are highly perishable and can be damaged in hot weather.
     
  • You won't be happy if your order is damaged.
     
  • We ship FedEx Express (air service) year round. We do not ship ground due to the extra delivery time required and the way packages are handled.
     
  • From April-October we use economical 3 Day Service (Express Saver).
     
  • Delays can occur during periods of very hot weather. We are located in Ohio.
     
  • Safe arrival is guaranteed. In our 31 years we have never had a damaged order!

Shipping charges for Hawaii and Alaska are custom calculated and will appear on your order confirmation.

Shipping Details

  • The way your order is prepared and shipped greatly contributes to your success and satisfaction. We have eliminated the number one reason customers fail with succulents that are shipped. We send nothing bare root! All plants are shipped potted with healthy roots intact. See shipping details for more.
     
  • In today's world, shipping has become very complicated due to high energy costs. All carriers have raised prices dramatically to compensate and charge based on dimensional weight (carton size) or actual weight whichever is greater. For example, a small one cubic foot (12"x12"x12") carton has a dimensional weight of 9 pounds. You can easily see how difficult calculating shipping charges can become since plants vary so much in size.
     
  • We have excellent FedEx rates and charge only for expenses incurred not for profit.
     
  • It is your responsibility to retrieve your order the day it is delivered absolutely not leaving it outside overnight. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking number so you will know exactly when it arrives.
     
  • FedEx will leave your package at your door. You don't have to be home to sign for it. If you are having your order shipped to your work address, FedEx will not leave it unless someone is present to sign.
     
  • If your package is ever lost or damaged, we take care of the situation and ship a replacement order. This is however very rare.
     

Frequently Asked Questions About Shipping

  • Q: Why does shipping seem to be so expensive?
    A: Because the cost of oil is so expensive.
     
  • Q: Why can't you ship my order by good old U.S. Postal Service?
    A: Because you wouldn't be happy with what was delivered. Yes your order might arrive just fine but the USPS is rough with packages and lacks instant tracking.
     
  • Q: Why don't you send plants to foreign countries?
    A: We do not export. The administrative work involved is just too great for a small company like ours.
