One of the most protected and rarest species, this found its way into cultivation in the mid 1980’s but still remains rare today. Its super size white flowers can reach 4" in diameter on a mature plant and are quite an event.

Despite its free flowering nature and easy culture, it is one of the most difficult pachypodiums to propagate and hence will never be plentiful in collections.

Interesting 6 year old plant pruned at two years to encourage branching. 5 inch caudex

3 year old plants pruned the previous year. Note the pot size for caudex development. 3 inch pots will make a 3 inch caudex. Large pots will only produce more leaves and stems and little caudex development.

One of the largest pachypodiums in our entire collection. 17 inch pot with a 15 inch diameter caudex. We estimate it to be around 45 years old. We have been cultivating it for 23 years.
