For many years, this plant once occupied the monotypic genus Rechsteineria as Rechsteineria leucotricha but this designation was later abandoned in favor of inclusion in the very large genus Sinningia.

It's a very beautiful caudiciform worthy of space in any collection. The large pink flowers and wonderful silvery tomentose leaves are quite striking.

Cultivation is remarkably easy provided it receives strong light and the caudex can be increased substantially each season for the first few years. After that growth slows considerably. For fastest results grow it with the tuber below soil level for a few years, then raise it for display. We ship it with the tuber below to give you a good start.
