At one time this was classified as Tacitus bellus, a monotypic genus. A few years ago taxonomists moved it to Graptopetalum where it seems very much at home.

Never common in collections, this has always been in demand. The purple and gray hued rosette is quite nice but you can set your watch by the large clusters of stunning flowers that appear right on schedule every May and June. It is quite slow growing but otherwise of easy culture.
